The app
Who is Groundbreaker for?
Outside sales reps who sell into construction: staffing, equipment rental, materials, subcontracting, anyone whose customers are on jobsites. And the managers who run those reps.
Does it work on Android or iPad?
Not yet. Groundbreaker runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later. An Android app is on our list; tell us if your team needs it, because that moves it up.
What happens when there's no signal?
Keep working. Your sites and routes are on the phone, and visits, notes, photos and dropped pins save there too. They send on their own when you're back in range, and the Account screen shows how many are waiting to send.
Does it track my location?
No. Groundbreaker uses your location only while the app is open, to show where you are, to drop a pin and to check which site you're standing at. It never tracks you in the background, and managers never see where you are. They see the visits you log.
What is the morning brief?
A spoken rundown of your day, ready each morning: your route, who you'll likely see at each stop and what happened last time, plus the weather. Play it from the Today screen, a widget or Siri on the drive in.
Can I try it without touching real data?
Yes. In the app, go to Account and switch on Demo mode for invented sample sites, contacts and visits. Your real data comes back untouched when you switch it off. Managers can try the manager website with sample data without signing in.
For managers
How do I add my team?
On the manager website's People page, make an invite code for a rep or a manager, choose how many days it works and for how many people, and text or email it to your team. They install the app, enter the code and they're in.
What happens when a rep leaves?
Switch them off on the People page. Their access stops straight away, their visits and notes stay with the company, and you choose who gets their sites.
How do we bring in our existing site list?
Upload it on the manager website from Excel (.xlsx), a CSV file or a Google Sheet saved as either. You see a preview before anything is saved, and you can undo the last import.
What reports do I get?
The Team page shows each rep's visits, sites visited, new sites, follow-ups done and overdue, and route stops made, compared with the week before. Reports show follow-ups by how late they are, coverage (open sites by when they were last visited, on a map), where new sites come from and your history with each general contractor. Each rep has a page with their routes and visits. Every table downloads as a spreadsheet.
Can I get the numbers by email?
Yes. Owners and managers can get last week's team table every Monday at 7 AM, with the spreadsheet attached. Each person switches it on or off for themselves.
Your data
Who owns our data?
Your company does. The sites, visits and contacts your team enters belong to your company's account. We use them to run Groundbreaker for you, and we don't sell them or use them for advertising.
Can we get our data out?
Any time. Owners and managers can download sites, contacts and visits as CSV files from the app, and every table and report from the manager website.
Can other companies see our sites?
No. Each company's data is walled off in the database itself. See the security page for how.
How do we delete our data?
Reps and managers can delete sites, visits and contacts in the app, and anyone can delete their own account under Account. To close your company's account, email us and we'll delete it within 30 days. The privacy policy has the details.
Integrations
Does it connect to our CRM?
HubSpot is in testing now: each visit becomes a note and each follow-up a task in your own HubSpot account. Salesforce, staffing systems such as Bullhorn and TempWorks, and others are on our list. Any system that reads a spreadsheet works today. See the integrations page.
Does it work with Google Maps or Waze?
Yes. Tap Navigate and pick Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze. Follow-ups and route stops go on whichever calendar is on your iPhone, Google, Outlook or Apple, with one tap.
Pricing and getting started
How much does it cost?
Rep is $29 per rep per month, Team is $49 per rep per month with a 3-rep minimum, and Company starts at $99 per rep per month. Yearly billing costs less. Lead Finder is $149 per metro per month. See pricing.
Can we try it first?
Yes. Start with a 30-day pilot for one team, at a flat fee credited toward your first year. Book a 30-minute demo and we'll set it up with you.
Who's behind Groundbreaker?
Jon Pratt, who spent years selling construction staffing across metro Atlanta and built the app he wanted on his own phone. Read more.
